Trends that Murdered the Actual Essence of Beauty!
It has been a common practice of all times that beauty gurus come up with unique trends. It then becomes an obligation on women to follow these trends. Most of the time quality trends hit the floor and women go gaga over these trends. But sometimes the story is opposite. At times so bizarre trends enter the market that one thinks a thousand times before adopting them. However some loyal beauty followers consider it a moral responsibility to follow these trends. So here I bring a few beauty trends that hit the market. Some of them died soon but some were still adopted by people.
Lip plumping:
Till now all of us are aware of this trend. We have seen women going nuts over this trend initiated by Kylie Jenner. Lip pluming is a technique that makes you lips look bigger and plumper. There are several ways of doing so. Where many women adopted surgical plumping, some went for safer methods. Surgically lip filler is injected in your lips that swells and increases the size of your lips. Other safer methods and tools were also introduced in market which by suction just swells your lips for some time. But the question arises, why actually do you need big lips? I might not be able to answer this question as reasons for adopting this bizarre trend must be huge and must be associated to psychology of women adopting this trend.
Nose hair extensions:
Now this one entered the market for a short time and couldn’t stand for long. People largely criticized this trend and hence it seemed to vanish even before strengthening. After hair and lash extensions a new trend of noise hair extension was seen. A few Instagram beauty bloggers opted for this trend but reaction from public wasn’t good. This trend was to add extra hair to your noise that they are prominently visible. Anyways, the good news is that this trend didn’t go viral and we are far safe from it.
Unreasonably large eyelashes:
Long eyelashes have always been desirable. They are considered an integral beauty feature. Since long women have been using mascara to make their eyelashes look longer and healthier. Later a new trend of applying false lashes was adopted. And here comes the lash extensions. A new way of making you lashes look thicker, full and lengthy. Lash extension basically works by adding synthetic hair to you lash line. It is a long lasting and a reliable process however many times excessive lash hair and extraordinary length becomes an issue.
Pencil Drawn eyebrows:
Now this one is widely adopted and to some extent makes your face look even. However some women who like going extra over eyebrows make it look like a disaster. A few years back when sheer thin eyebrows were in trend ladies brutally trimmed off their brows. But as heavy and bushy brows trended they now devised a way out and that was by using brow pencils. This trend works both ways. It gives a beautiful dimension to your face and makes you look beautiful only if used in moderation. Overdoing or choosing a darker shade will mess it all.
Fake Freckles:
How random are some trends. In past women were anxious to get rid of freckles and were ready to adopt all methods to have a clean clear skin. But today they actually apply tattoos to get freckles. It probably has to do a lot with the thought of “Natural Beauty” but going nuts isn’t the right thing. Having freckles is one thing but tattooing them is another. So we also witnessed this trend of applying fake freckles to your face.
Acrylic Nails:
So this was a major fashion disaster when women opted for acrylic nails. Desire for long nails which are beautifully painted is understandable. But having long pointed stiletto nails is indeed unlikeable. It doesn’t stop here but the recent trend of having duck nails is a complete fail. In past the trend for nail art was at peak. Women used different nail colors and coats to enhance their hands. But with acrylic nails it went too over the edge.
Highlighter all over:
Initially when highlighter was introduced it was accepted with arms wide open. Many beauty brands launched their own highlighters and made huge profits. It was understood that highlighters were introduced to highlight then high ends of your face such as cheek bones and Nose Bridge. But the craziest thing is to pop highlighter all over your face. It not only looks bad but continuously radiates light. So it is a complete NO from our side.
In all above bizarre trends we noticed one thing and that was going extra. The basic reason for doing makeup is to enhance your beauty not ruining it. But with such awkward trends we normally tend to look unreasonable. It must always be kept in mind that fashion is what actually suits you. Every trend is not to be followed and only the ones that make you look beautiful are to be adopted. Hence to look natural and radiant avoid the above mentioned atypical trends that took the fashion world by storm.
